| 2008 Volunteer Recognition |
DMF for Seniors is rolling out the red carpet for the 2008 annual Volunteer Recognition Event. This year's theme is "The Oscars" and it promises to be an exciting night with paparazzi, Hollywood trivia and a surprise gift that will make the evening even more memorable. We invite all our volunteers to join us for dinner and the presentation of awards at Spirale's Banquet Hall, just North of Eglinton, on the West side of Don Mills.
This is the night our volunteers receive the celebrity treatment in appreciation of the hard work and dedication shown in caring for our clients and residents, planning our events, and providing valuable administration support. The Volunteer Starts attending this gala event play lead and supporting roles in many of our vital programs and services including:
- Four Seasons Connections
- Friendly Visiting
- Front Desk Reception
- Special Events
- Activities
- Transportation
- Fundraising/Development
- Cafeteria
- Telephone Reassurance
- Friendly Shopping
- Active for Life
- Day Programs
- Office Administration
- Meals on Wheels
In addition to recognizing the contributions of all our dedicated volunteers, we will be presenting awards for years of services and for exceptional individual efforts. We are please to have the opportunity to honor the award winners and highlight the importance of volunteer, community and corporate support by bringing everyone together for a Star-studded celebration.
The DMF for Seniors' Volunteer Department is already hard at work planning all the details of this gala event and encourages everyone to participate in the theme by "glamming" in up for the evening. Spirale's Banquet Hall will be transformed into a glamorous venue worthy of A-list Stars and the staff (your hosts for the evening) will be dressed to impress.
Suggestions for evening attire include:
- Evening Wear
- Pearls (faux pearls)
- Boas Jewels (faux jewels)
- Fur (faux fur)
- Dark Suits
- Feather (faux feather)
- Hair up-do
- Tiara & hair accessories
- Tuxedos
- Anything sparkly or shiny
If you don't have these things on hand, you can dress in black and white, which never goes out of style.
Most of all, we want you to have fun, celebrate your achievements and enjoy the company of friends. After all, that is what being a Star is all about.
